Hunting Conditions and Rules

Any person who engages in an act of unethical hunting, misconduct or violates the following conditions shall leave the farm on request of the manager / owner.

  1. You will shoot from the point where you and your guide are dropped off in the hunting area.
  2. No private vehicles allowed in hunting area.
  3. You must at all times be accompanied by your guide while in the veld.
  4. Do not litter in veld, and due to the fire hazard, do not discard cigarette butts.
  5. Hunting takes place from 7.30 until 16.00. Night hunting is not allowed.
  6. Hunting is not allowed in the boundary roads or near boundary fence. Hunters will be responsible for game breaking through to neighboring farms.

  8. Do not give liquor to the guides. Soft drinks will do.
  9. No hunter may begin to hunt until an indemnity form has been signed.
  10. You must satisfy yourself regarding the specie, size and sex of the game you want to shoot. You must not rely on the guides, as no discount is allowed for small or wrong game. You pull the trigger, not the guide.
  11. In the case of a wounded animal everything possible will be done to try and find the animal in the booked time frame of the hunt. Thereafter it will be deemed killed.
  12. Guides are not responsible for finding any injured / wounded animal. They will, however, be helpful in the search of such animal. Thus do not try and bribe the guide about a wounded animal.
  13. Non-hunters who join a hunter in the veld will do so entirely at their own risk. All non-hunters are subject to the rules and regulations of the farm.
  14. Hunting of any bird species is strictly prohibited.
  15. Only species agreed upon may be hunted. Any specie shot that is not agreed upon will carry a penalty of R5000-00 above the normal specie price.
  16. No hunting on Sundays.
  17. Shooting at fleeing animals is not allowed.
  18. The minimum caliber rifle allowed is a .243 (100gr) for Blesbuck, and Springbuck. For all other game the smallest caliber allowed is a .270 (130gr.)
  19. Prior to proceeding into the veld, rifles need to be sighted at the Shooting Range. Also with shooting sticks. There will be a charge for every missed shot during the hunt. First shot R50-00 ; Second shot R100-00 ; Thereafter R150-00 per shot. It is thus important to go to a shooting range near your house and practice before arrival.
  20. Each hunter must bring his own hunting rifle. Licenses must be in order.
  21. Any damage to property / equipment will be for the hunters account. Costs will be on a repair / replacement basis.
  22. Firearms must at all times be transported without cartridges in the chamber. When leaving the veld all cartridges must be removed from the rifle (including magazine). Never leave a loaded firearm unattended anywhere. A gunsafe is available in Lodge.
  23. Fire arms shall remain in the Lodge at night and no night driving will be allowed.
  24. Go to bed at a reasonable time at night as a tired hunter is not at his best in the hunting veld.
  25. No solid point ammunition is allowed.
  26. In the case of a veld fire or any fire originating from a cigarette etc. the person in whose name the hunt was booked will be responsible for all damages.
  27. Mattresses, blankets etc. are not allowed around the fire and not to be removed from the Lodge.
  28. Please report any damages or breakages as soon as possible for such to be rectified.
  29. Do not be afraid to tip staff on work well done before departure.
  30. Damaging of plant life is prohibited.
  31. No tree stumps, wood, or plants may be removed or displaced.
  32. Do not scare or chase animals.
